Certified 100% Organic
Mycelial Biomass Production and Processing -
M2 Ingredients produces and processes mushroom mycelial biomass and fruit body products utilizing Solid State Fermentation methodologies at the production facility in San Marcos, California under highly controlled, hygienic conditions.
The potencies of each mushroom strain are maintained utilizing liquid nitrogen (cryogenic) storage technologies to store the original fungal cultures and their bioactivities for periodic renewal. The mycelial biomass is cultured on Certified 100% Organic whole oats that have been steam- and pressure-sterilized (autoclaved). After cooling, the sterilized oats are inoculated with the pure and proprietary medicinal mushroom strains and are sealed in engineered “bioreactor” growing bags equipped with air filters to exclude airborne contamination and to allow the medicinal mushroom cultures to ”breathe” during the controlled incubation/fermentation period. The growing facility is equipped with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration utilizing aseptic, clean-room Solid State Fermentation production methodologies. Processing (dehydration, milling, blending) and packaging are also done in a building equipped with HEPA air filtration using documented cGMP compliant procedures.
The fresh mycelial biomass and fruit bodies are air-dried at controlled temperatures to preserve the bioactivity of the proteins, amino acids and extra-cellular compounds. After being stabilized at 5% moisture content, the product is finely milled to minimize particle sizes to maximize bioavailability. No preservatives or fillers are added to the final mushroom powders.
